Query letters

Be positive, professional and to the point in your query. To begin writing it, start with yourself—that should be the easiest subject. Let your mind spill everything you can think of that relates to you as the author, including your platform. A platform is your past experiences as a writer, a speaker or a teacher. The publishers want to know how much of a following you have. Higher visibility means higher sales for your book.

The first piece I sent in to a magazine was rejected and I also didn’t get accepted to teach at the first two art conventions I applied for. But that didn’t stop me.
